2015 Camp Dates

Registration for 2015 Summer Camp is now OPEN!  Enjoy one or more exciting weeks as part of your summer tradition. Please note that all resident camps begin on Sunday and day camps on Monday.

Week 1 – NSC kicks off the summer with Anson Dorrance June 28 – July 3 resident camp and June 29 – July 3 day camp for girls ages 12 – 17.  If you are a serious female athlete and are determined to play college level then you do not want to miss this week of  camp!  This girls-only week features UNC’s Anson Dorrance, Head Coach for first World Championship U.S. Women’s Team and winner of 22 Division I Women’s National Championships.  Anson’s #1 assistant coach–Federal Way’s own Jason Sisneros, director of his UNC camps–will accompany Anson to NSC. If you can’t get Mia Hamm, how ’bout her coach? Complete Skills Day Camp June 29 – July 3 offers training in all aspects of the game for Future Stars ages 7-11, boys and girls.

Week 2 – World Class Goalkeeping and Finishing School July 5 – 10 resident camp and July 6 – 10 day camp. World Class Goalkeeping and Finishing School features England’s Paul Barron; Marcus Hahnemann, who completed his professional career with the Seattle Sounders; and Steve McCrath, Barry University Men’s Soccer Coach.  This exciting week comprises specialty goalkeeping training and dynamic finishing programs for resident campers ages 12-17. Goalkeeping training consists of comprehensive goalkeeping sessions, covering the basic fundamentals of shot-stopping, positioning, footwork, handling, distributing, crosses, and breakaways. Tactics include situational play, game preparation, communication, and environmental conditions. Field Player Finishing School, directed by Coach Steve McCrath, many of whose players have gone on to play professionally, focuses on attacking in the final third.  Training includes small-sided exercises on the art of attacking, finishing, and scoring–competing against those being trained at the highest level in the art of goalkeeping. Complete Skills Day Camp July 6 – 10 offers training in all aspects of the game for Future Stars ages 7 – 11.

Week 3 – Elite and Complete Skills Training July 12 – 17. Elite Day Camp (ages 12-17) and Complete Skills Training (ages 7-11) July 13 – 17. Elite Week – in its 24th year-offers the elite player (ages 12-17), as well as the soon-to-be-elite player, a week of intense, no-nonsense soccer designed to prepare him/her for advanced play as well as high school and college level performance. This session is for serious soccer players complemented by an exceptional coaching staff, directed by our own Steve McCrath, the winningest Men’s Soccer Coach at Barry University, many of whose players have gone on to play professionally, and  featuring college and professional coaches from around the world.  In addition, one of the most unique segments of the Elite Week experience is the power and explosion program directed by Dr. Kenneth Foreman, US Olympic Hall-of-Fame Coach, his wife Denise, and Dale Kennedy-legendary coach from Montana State University.

Week 4 – Brazilian Concepts of Play with Edu July 19 – 24 resident camp and July 20 – 24 day camp, ages 7-17. Edu, from Brazil is the “pied piper” of  soccer and a special guest of Northwest Soccer Camp. Edu appeared on the Brazilian soccer scene at age 15, when he signed his first professional contract with Santos FC, Pele’s club. One year later, in 1966, he was named to the Brazilian national team and traveled to England as the youngest player ever to participate in a World Cup. He was a teammate of the great Pele for thirteen years. They were one of the most feared duos in the game and together scored over 1500 goals. It is notable that Edu was credited with assists on approximately half the goals Pele scored.

Week 5 – Advanced Player Training July 26 – 31 resident camp and July 27 – 31 day camp for ages 10-15; Complete Skills day camp for ages 7-9. NSC will offer offers exciting programs for the ADVANCED (ages 13-15) AND JR. ADVANCED (ages 10-12) player seeking to broaden their opportunities for higher level play. NORTHWEST SOCCER CAMP WAS THE FIRST CAMP IN THE UNITED STATES TO OFFER BOTH ADVANCED AND JR ADVANCED PROGRAMS.

Week 6 – Complete Skills Training August 2 – 7 resident camp and August 3 – 7 day camp, ages 7-15. New this year is our Complete Soccer Week for all levels of play. The week offers our traditional program, with all the benefits of other weeks, including a focus on aggressive attacking and dribbling as well as shooting. In addition, there are opportunities for Team Training that have proven successful as preparation for team tryouts at all levels, including college. This end-of-the-summer week is one you don’t want to miss!
