Karen is the Director of Northwest’s Women’s Weekend and is returning
for her 10th year at Northwest Soccer Camp.
Karen has been the head coach at Santa Rosa since 1996. During that time she
led them to top ten rankings in 1998, 1999 and 2000. Karen was named as West
Regional Coach of the Year in 1999 and National Coach of the year in 1998.
Santa Rosa has been awarded the NSCAA Team Ethics Award of Merit every year
of her coaching tenure.
Before moving to Santa Rosa, Karen was the Head Coach
at the University of Southern California from 1993-1996.
Karen was an assistant at the University
of Notre Dame from 1991-1993 and served as head coach of the Seattle Pacific
University Women’s Club team
from 1988-1991.
From 1989-1991 she was Head Coach of the Tahoma High School
Boys soccer team and from 1988-1990 she was the Head Coach of Bishop Blanchet
High School’s
girls soccer team. Karen got her northwest soccer coaching start as an assistant
at University of Puget Sound during the 1987 and 1988 seasons. She was an Academic/All
Conference player at Chico State University where she went on to earn both
her Bachelor and Masters degrees.
In 2000 she was inducted into the Chico State
Hall of Fame. Karen was a founding member and past president of the Women’s Soccer Foundation and has been
a voting member of the Women’s Sports Foundation since 1989.
