In the 1890's, the newly built Fort Casey on Whidbey Island guarded the entrance
to Bremerton's naval shipyard. Today, Casey Conference Center offers versatile
facilities and beautiful surroundings, making it an ideal place to play, relax
and learn. Casey Conference Center is owned and operated by Seattle
Pacific University, a private, four-year Christian university of liberal
arts and professional studies. Casey Conference Center is available to non-profit
tax-exempt organizations whose purposes and/or activities are in harmony with
the Christian mission of Seattle Pacific University.
Lodging:
Company Quarters: Open bay dormitory or semi-private
(two people per room) accommodations for groups of 20 to 500 persons. Handicapped
accessible.
Alumni
House West: Turn-of-the-century Victorian house for youth and adult leadership
groups. Accommodates up to 17 persons in a warm, home-like atmosphere.
Campsites:
Twenty four sites located in a beautiful wooded setting. Water and electricity
hook-ups with restrooms and showers.
Staff Quarters: Private
rustic cottages with semi-private rooms for up to eight persons. Ideal for
guest speakers, leaders and group facilitator.
Firehall:
Cozy remodeled three-bedroom with kitchen facilities and woodstove. Accommodates
eight to 12 persons in an intimate atmosphere for leadership retreats and seminars.
Bachelor Officers Quarters: Accommodates 20 to 50 persons for
lodging in semi-private rooms with large meeting area, small group space, dining
room and commercial kitchen available for rental - all located in one building.

Food Service:
Three Kitchen/Dining Room Facilities: Excellent food service available
with a variety of alternatives in both food options and dining times. Kitchen
rentals are also available, giving you the option to do your own cooking. Handicapped
accessible.
Meeting Facilities Auditorium A: Maximum capacity 350. Multipurpose
building suitable for chapel, seminars or workshops. Equipped with large movie
screen, public address system and stage. Handicapped accessible.
Auditorium B: Maximum
capacity - 130. Multipurpose meeting area for smaller gatherings. Hardwood
floor and built-in blackboard allow for a variety of uses. Handicapped accessible.
Classroom B: Capacity 10-100 Provides four smaller classrooms
ranging in size. Carpeted floors and comfortable chairs create a warm and welcoming
environment. Suitable for lectures, seminars and workshops. Handicapped accessible.
Recreational Facilities:
Gymnasium: A roomy play area equipped with basketball and volleyball
equipment. It has a three-quarter size basketball court, ping
pong tables and a pool table.
Swimming
Pool: A heated, outdoor pool with lifeguards on duty. Seasonal use. Outdoor
Field Use: Three outdoor volleyball courts, multiple soccer field and four
outdoor full-size basketball courts.
Picnic Areas: Located along the beach and
in the campground; are available for year-round use. Beach: The Conference
Center borders on two miles of Puget Sound beach. This area is available for
hiking, beachcombing and relaxing.
Tennis
Court: Conveniently located on the grounds near the swimming pool. Firesides:
Three fireside areas perfect for evening meetings, sing-alongs and hot dog
roasts.
Places of Interest:
Coupeville: Stately Victorian
homes and shops are just three miles north of Casey Conference Center in Coupeville.
Browse through the stores along Front Street or experience the lives of Whidbey
Island's early settlers at the Island County Museum. Visit a fortified wooden "block
house" where
settlers ran for protection from arrows of local Indians.
Port Townsend: This historic
town can be reached by a short walk and a ferry ride. It's a popular spot for
an afternoon of sightseeing and recreation.
Fort Casey State Park: Only a five-minute
walk from the Conference Center, Fort Casey State Park is a favorite of children
and adults. Climb to the top of the Fort Casey lighthouse and look out over
Puget Sound or explore remnants of World War I by hiking through concrete fortresses
and viewing massive cannons.
